Amos Gilhar

Dr. Gilhar  has been leading the Skin Research Laboratory at Technion- Israel Institute of Technology since 1986, Haifa. His research has spanned cross broad areas of dermatology and immunology from basic research to uncover the fundamental mechanisms of actions of different skin and hair diseases e.g. alopecia areata, androgenetic alopecia, novel preclinical models such as humanized mice models for alopecia areata, androgenetic alopecia, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and skin aging - to clinical research.



Andrew Messenger

Prof. Messenger has a clinical and research interest in hair disease, including alopecia areata, female pattern hair loss and frontal fibrosing alopecia. He was president of the European Hair Research Society 2004-6, of the North of England Dermatological Society 2008-9 and has been president of the Institute of Trichologists since 2009. Prof. Messenger was also Chair of the 7th World Congress for Hair Research in 2013.



Colin Jahoda

Marja Mikkola

Dr. Mikkola is an expert in skin appendage development such as the tooth, mammary gland, and hair follicle. She is best known for her studies on the ectodysplasin (Eda) pathway whose mutations cause hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia. Currently, her group focuses on deciphering the details of epithelial-mesenchymal interactions governing hair follicle induction, as well as mechanisms governing hair follicle fate specification.
